Michela Martello is a Brooklyn-based artist whose work draws from devotional iconography and textile traditions. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in several public and private collections. Martello has extensive experience leading art workshops for youth and has previously taught children’s programming at Newman Memorial United Methodist Church. She will co-create new artwork, co-lead workshops, and serve as liaison to the church community.

 

Kristy Gordon is a Canadian-born, New York–based figurative painter whose work explores mythology, embodiment, and transformation. She has over fifteen years of experience teaching accessible art workshops for children and adults, both in person and through her educational platform Down2Art. Gordon is a three-time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant and has successfully completed multiple grant-supported public art projects. For Spirits of Brooklyn, she will co-create new artwork, co-lead children’s workshops, and coordinate project planning and outreach.
