Luminous Thresholds
These paintings bring together works from Spirits of Brooklyn and Luminous Thresholds, two interconnected bodies of work exploring the space between the visible world and the worlds we carry within us. Contemporary figures appear alongside animals, plants, goddesses, and symbolic patterns, creating dreamlike scenes where past and present, reality and imagination overlap.
Several of the newest paintings were created during three months in Florence, where I drew inspiration from Botticelli’s paintings at the Uffizi and the fantastical ceiling decorations of Palazzo Vecchio. Combining these influences with contemporary subjects, I create imagined worlds that feel both ancient and contemporary, inviting viewers to cross a threshold into new possibility.
